Redfish trails were hit hard by the pandemic-related shutdowns of 2020. A few regional trails are up and running.
The 2023 Elite Redfish Series offers perhaps the most geographically diverse schedule for kayak anglers looking to get a little salty with their tournament exploits. The professional caliber trail hosts events in Florida, Louisiana and Texas.
This is a team trail so grab a partner, although anglers are permitted to fish alone. Partners must fish within 200 yards of each other. You can launch from one truck and recover your kayaks in the other so as to create a one-way float trip which is nice.
The goal is to bring in 2 live redfish for an actual on-stage weigh in. This is NOT a Catch, Photograph, Release tournament trail. There is a penalty for dead fish.
$50 membership fee and $350 entry fee per tournament.
